The Model

Having discovered that conflicts cannot be prevented yet can be resolved, you may ask yourself questions such as:

  • why would I be a conflict resolver?
  • If I choose to be one, how do I get to be one?

The Bible is our inspiration, as far as the ‘why’ question is concerned. In the Bible, strong arguments can be found from God’s perspective, but also from the perspective of your personal benefit and the benefit of the people you have a relationship with.

These basic principles have been summarised in the

In order to properly address the issue, we discern:

Six Stages in the process of conflict management
and
Nine Roles that can be played

This model of Six Stages and Nine Roles for biblical conflict management has been developed by John Shindeldecker. This ministry is based on John’s international experience as a leader and a coach of intercultural teams and churches, covering 25 years.

A Quick Start Guide was also developed. This single sheet guide takes you through the first two stages and gives you advice on how to play the four basic roles.

It is very practical. About 80% of all conflicts can be solved using this guide.
